A madman named Art the Clown terrorizes two friends on Halloween and anyone who gets in his way. David Howard Thornton was the sixth person to participate in Art The Clown, following Mike Giannelli’s retirement from the role and acting. During the audition, he started pretending to taste the blood of his beaten victim, but added salt to make it taste better. In the images Tara is recorded in, the tape clearly does not touch her lower mouth in some earlier photos, while in other photos it is tightened around both lips.. Art the Clown started in 2011 with a short film of the same name, to be honest I didn’t like it.
It’s also pretty ugly and oddly paced throughout
Author Damien Leone featured art in his film All Hallows' Eve (2013), but in a small role. Now here we are and Art has his own movie, but is it any good? Honestly, not really, but it’s better than his last single. It follows the usual slasher formula and sees some girls on Halloween night attacked by a psychotic clown. So again, this is generic stuff, it covers all the usual tropes, and while it’s not predictable, there are certainly no surprises.
The Terrifier, however, has pure unadulterated brutality
This is horrifying, ruthless stuff, I was actually quite shocked. Given the budget, they make everything look really good, so kudos to the sfx department. I like clowns as antagonists, but Arta just doesn’t seem to tick enough boxes for me. He’s less of a clown and more of a mime and doesn’t seem like an interesting enough character to carry his own movie. Acceptable stuff, but by this time next week I’ve forgotten about it.
